Mid-sem break is coming to an end. My 1 week off has been good, been pretty productive and disciplined. Daily revision (I'm still quite amazed of how I managed this), got myself a haircut in the city, baked a cheesecake, gym, party on a Saturday night.

I'm not dead.

Haven't touched my camera for the longest period of time. So, my apologies for the boring texts here.

Doing my last week of ObGyn here at the Royal Hospital for Women. It's only 4 weeks of duration for us in Year 4. We'll be doing another 8 weeks in Year 5. Next on the list is paediatrics, which will commence next week, for 4 weeks of duration as well.

Gotta start studying...

Gotta stop going out... but I love my weekend outings...

Gone, baby gone!!!

Last Saturday night, a bunch of us went to The Rocks, around the Opera House. We just have to do something on Saturday nights, and most of the time, the destination is the city. If Sydney's famous for anything, it would be the vibrant city at night =)

Minhee, Christine & I were on time, so we met at the Opera House and had a nice stroll along the harbour, enjoying the breathtaking view while waiting for Esther and her sister. Minhee's from South Korea, and she's our new friend here. She's a really pleasant and genuine person, xx.

Finally, when the 2 arrived, they decided to have dinner at the ever so famous Pancakes on the Rocks.

I didn't join them for dinner that night, had to leave them halfway for another meeting. SORRY, GIRLS!!! But i'm sure you girls had loads of fun that night =)

Community Health rotation of mine has finally and officially ended!!! I was the happiest soul to walk out of the Community Health Centre after my supervisor completed my evaluation sheet, on which he wrote, 'Self-directed, autonomous, prompt ++++'.

Boredom never felt so good for a really long time now.

I cooked yesterday.

Pan-fried Greek style chicken, served with sweet potato and eggs.

2 more weeks of Community Health in the Prince of Wales Hospital, another 2 more weeks of lectures about occupational and global health, then that's it for Society and Health posting! CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Did some shopping in the city on Saturday, bought a dress for no reason (keeps me happy), a pair of jeans from FCUK which was half price!... Went to Circular Quay and The Rocks Night Market after that. It'll be one of my favourite places in Sydney from now on =)

Been in low mood for weeks, some days are better than others. It could just be SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). Can't believe I've been taking the sun in Malaysia for granted all this while!

Anyways, it's been getting better, I think. I feel better, things are sort of falling into place, and resilience is something I need to master, quickly!

On Friday night, Christine and I were just discussing on what to do for Saturday, 'cause I wasn't in the mood to revise or even to arrange my notes. The choices were, the city, Bondi Junction, Coogee beach, Sydney Wildlife Park, Sydney Museum... I really wanted to go to the beach, but it's late autumn, chilly, rainy and gloomy...

Woke up early to hit the gym at 8am (at least I still enjoy working out). Then when I came out from the gym, it was bright and sunny!!!

We bought lunch from Subway and sat on the beach for a couple of hours.

Community Health. 3 weeks down!!! 5 more weeks to go!

I CAN DO THIS, I CAN DO THIS!

I learned some Greek from a patient today, words like doctor, specialist, nurse and hospital. Gotta master more languages =)

After this posting, it'll be winter break for us =) Although it's 8 days only, gotta take what is given with gratitute, aye? No plans for the break yet. Daddy and mummy are not coming to Sydney anymore, change of plan =(

Bummer.

After the break, it'll be the BGD posting!!! Begining, growth and development (some fancy name for O&G and paediatrics). Justin, O&G refers to the medical specialty which deals with pregnant and non-pregnant women health, while paeds deals with children's health (from infant to age 21).

Can't wait for something clinical to come my way!!!

Not in the mood to blog about events at the moment, been feeling a lil down.

I've been going to the gym really often, since JOEL GAN said that I look fatter. THIS CANNOT HAPPEN!

Time flies. Teaching period 1 is over, means, I've been in the course for a good 2 months, in Sydney for 3 months already. My rotation started with Ageing and Endings, which is equivalent to Oncology, Palliative Care and Geriatrics. I was the whiny one who complained about my start of clinicals with these 2 disciplines back then, and now that it's over, I realise how much I actually enjoyed this term.

I LOVE GERIATRIC MEDICINE for this term. I was dreading to start the term when my oncology term ended, don't know what was I thinking! Anyways, for aged care term, the 3 of us who are posted to the Prince of Wales Hospital, are allocated to a different team each at the ward, lead by a different consultant each. Mine was Team Caplan, led by Prof. Caplan. Dr. Gogulan was the Jr. Reg, and Dr. Tyler Chan was the intern. So, under the prof's order, the registrar and intern had to babysit me for 4 weeks, haha. Bad for them, good for me!

Geriatrics is really a good field to practice general medicine, taking into consideration of VARIOUS factors that might affect the normal prescription, patient's compliance, mental health, social status, family etc... It selects only the most wholesome doctors. One of the lecturers said, "In geris, think paeds!" Soooo true! You're not only treating the symptoms, often in elderly, it's a combination of syndromes, taking into consideration of the family as well. In paeds, anything you do or plan has to be involved with the family. It's fascinating how one can revert back to their inner child behavior as they age. Countless times, have I spoken to my patients as though they were little kids, urging them to stay still; have I held their hands through procedures just so they would feel more secure and reassured, as how a child would feel like.

I'm so thankful for being the kid in the team, this particular Team Caplan =)

Everyone in the team was very verbal and interactive, and had a good sense of humour!
The doctors were all dudes, so I was the only girl in the team tagging along, MADE ME THE SPECIAL ONE, hehe. I love how the reg, Tyler and I joked around so often in the office.
I had 2 awesome babysitters, especially Tyler, who spent time teaching, showing and guiding me through venepunctures and iv cannulations! Well, we'll only be taught to do those things officially during our Internal Medicine rotation, which for me, is in late September, what a shame.
My team doctors were multiracial. I liked how all of us traded experiences, although I don't have much. Tyler would happily talk bout USA (he's an American), Gogulan would talk about Sri Lanka and UK (he has worked in MANY countries) and Prof. Caplan would talk bout Australia from his intern days. Total coolness!

The rheumatology reg asked me, "So, what year are you in now, Seeki?"

Me, "Oh, 4th year."

Him, "Oh, hahah, you're still a baby!"

Then, the 2 dudes, Tyler and Gogulan suggested that I should sit on the ward round cart (it really looked like a cradle) and they'd push me around. Silly!

Somedays I'll just be the assistant to them, like tying their aprons, prepping the equipments, turning the patients, holding the files while Tyler charts, hunting for the bed charts... Other days I would be the student doctor who "does Tyler's dirty job"- as said by the nurses. I didn't mind that, not for a bit, for this apprentice of his could practice procedures and communicating with the nurses and patients! I always reply, "No, haha, he means well, he wants me to learn, he checks on me when he's free too."

Young interns and regs are cool babysitters! Really. They always teach me new mnemonics for protocols, pharmacology, X-rays, physiology etc...

It's so sad that this term ended so soon. I won't say I'm depressed, for we have had 4 lectures on it and I know for sure I don't fit the criteria for Dx. Next term, on Monday, is a new term, Society and Health for 8 WEEKS!!!!. Eeeekkks, I'm doing Community Health of all the disciplines, and I DIDN'T CHOOSE THIS! I picked ambulatory medicine, community paediatrics, drugs and alcohol, cardiovascular health and psychiatry. Sigh... Well, I was told by the seniors that we'll have a lot of free time and that we won't learn much from this term anyway, so I should visit the wards to practice.

YEAP! That's what I'll be doing! At least until the reg and intern are rotated to other departments.

Christine's Birthday, ANZAC Day

May 22nd was Christine's 23rd Birthday. The IMU girls, plus Esther and Ru Xing celebrated the night with her at a Labanese restaurant at Randwick. Lebanon & Beyond was the name. Chanel & I left the hospital pretty late, about 6.30pm, but them meeting place was only 5 minutes walk away from our hospital. I LOVE THE PRINCE OF WALES HOSPITAL!

Met up with the girls at Coles (it's like our Sainbury, Van), then we walked over to the restaurant.

Only Chanel & I were in our formal attire, we didn't have time to change, our tutorial ended quite late. The St. Vincent's people had time to travel from the city back home, changed and walked up to Randwick to meet us. Oh well, I'm a busy person =p

April 25th, ANZAC Day. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. ANZAC Day marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. Over 8,000 Australian soldiers had been killed in Gallipoli on 25 April, meeting fierce resistance from the Ottoman Turkish defenders. A typical ANZAC Day ceremony may include the following features: an introduction, hymn, prayer, an address, laying of wreaths, a recitation, the Last Post, a period of silence, either the Rouse or the Reveille, and the national anthem. After the Memorial’s ceremony, families often place red poppies beside the names of relatives on the Memorial’s Roll of Honour, as they also do after Remembrance Day services.

We had a long weekend for in collaboration with Anzac Day, so, Kee Qian, whose PMS is in the University of Western Sydney (UWS), from M207, came to our happening town for her weekend. I knew her through Christine.

We brought the tourist around, not that we knew Sydney very well =p

She arrived on the Friday night. So, Christine & I went and pick her up from the Central station in the city after our tutorial at St. George Hospital, Kogarah. I don't know why UNSW make us travel so far (40 minutes train ride from the city) for a tutorial. Regardless, exploring a new town is never boring =)

We brought Kee Qian to Ayam Goreng 99 at Anzac Parade, Kingsford for dinner. Ayam Goreng serves the best roasted, grilled, deep fried and honey butter chicken ever!!! Oh, apparently, their special chili paste is really good if you're a fan of spicy food.

Next day, we went to the famous Sydney Fish Market near Darling Harbour, with one of Christine's housemate, Steffi.

Along the way, on Pyrmont Bridge, a pedestrian bridge, linking the 2 ends of Darling Harbour.

Fish Market. We had SASHIMI: Salmon, Tuna, Kingfish and Sea urchin roe. SEAFOOD PLATTER!!! I think it was only $20 per person? Sooo worth the money.

After lunch, we walked all the way back to the Darling Harbour, to bring Kee Qian to Lindt Cafe. Steffi had hot chocolate, we had iced chocolate and milkshake.

Steffi went home after Lindt for her assignment, and we continued walking around the city. Brought them to the Queen Victoria Building, note: them. CHRISTINE HADN'T BEEN TO QVB before!!!

I could resist stepping into Salvatore Ferragamo, major accomplishment! I'm saving up for Hermes and Varina from Ferragamo in winter =D

Brought Kee Qian to the Apple Store on George Street, just because Malaysia doesn't have any official Apple store, and that the stairs are way too majestic to be missed.

Decided to have PORK RIBS for dinner, at Hurricane's, Darling Harbour. 2 reasons: 1, it's only in SYDNEY, BABAY!!! 2. Darling Harbour has the best night view in town. Was on the waiting list for 2 1/2 hours, 'cause Hurricane's doesn't take reservations. While waiting, I heard several gunfire!!! I was thinking, "Oh no!!! Someone's shooting a gun and it's approaching me! How?!" I looked up and saw flashes of light. Hahaha, it was fireworks, set for ANZAC Day.

Took a train down to Strathfield for some authentic Korean food. The return ticket cost me $5.60, the food was good, but it's nothing I can't get from the city, and the food was the same price as those in the city. Well, I won't travel to Strathfield for the same reason again! NO!

Hyde Park was next in our itinerary. We were kinda rushing 'cause sunset was at about 5.30pm, and we didn't want to take pictures in the dark.

Easter Break: Adelaide- Melbourne

I just realised I still have many events to blog about.

Left Adelaide on Wednesday, and landed in Melbourne 20 minutes early. Ty wouldn't be called TY if he's ever on time. He was late, as usual, but still, THANK YOU for picking me up! =)

Walked around the University of Melbourne. I find visiting universities a pleasure, haha.

Went to Pie in the Sky at Olinda (some mountain) for pies! TY drove!

Met up with Justin and Jeng Shiun in the city. Had dinner at Lygon, then Jeng Shiun's GF, Hazel, joined us for Crown Casino!

Luna Park was a MAJOR disappointment!!!!!!!! Waste of time, waste of money, and my anticipation for it! The rides were lousy, nothing fascinating about any of the games, lousy prizes, EXPENSIVE fares.

After dinner, we headed back to the city, Justin, TY, and I walked to Dorklands (their "Darling Harbour"), heheheh!!!

Everything revolves around me.

Mr. S.S. is a 87 year-old gentleman with a history of MRSA who was too kind to me this afternoon by allowing me to draw blood from him, despite knowing that I've never done it before. It started when Tyler, the intern of my geriatrics team couldn't find anything to do so he asked me to observe the other resident drawing blood. I liked how he said, " Heyy, do you mind if my med student..." 5 minutes later, he walked to me and asked me about the process, then,

"So, do you think you can do it?"

Me, "Ermm, the patient had really obvious veins, but I can try =)"

Tyler,"Great! I need at least 6ml of blood from this patient for the investigation of dementia."

I was really excited! He wanted me to learn to use the "Butterfly needle" for venepuncture.

Tyler," Ok, have fun!"

Me, "You sure? Don't I need some sort of supervision?"

Tyler, "No, you'll be fine."

After prepping myself with PPE, I had my back up plan in mind in case I get into trouble, I knew who the nearest person to call for. Then with his very cool and charming American accent, he walked in and said that he would guide me through. THANK GOD! I didn't want to further cause more misery to the poor patient.

I started off pretty well, using the tourniquet, finding the vein and inserting the needle. Then all of the sudden, it hit me! My right hand was holding the needle, left hand was supporting the patien't hand, where's my third hand to draw the syringe?! While watching Tyler helping me with the syringe, I accidentally pulled the needle out before enough blood was collected! BAD SEEKI, BAD!!! With the tourniquet still on, obviously the patient started bleeding. Anyways, that painful process ended and I only managed to collect 3ml of blood. I can't believe I disappointed Tyler, and I think that he'll report my progress to the registar and the professor =(

Then, a nurse took the last page of the progress notes from the file 'cause I needed to use the file at the same time. When I returned the file, she was gone! Everyone was looking for the notes in chaos. Finally, someone managed to find it in one of the shelves.

When I was walking to the locker room, I saw an overweight chemo. patient having difficulty in opening the toilet door. I offered my help, and the next thing I know, she lost her balance, fell backwards and hit the floor with the back of her head! I WAS SO TERRIFED! I turned around and asked a nurse to fetch some nurses and a doctor to attend to the patient. I was so worried that there was gonna be bleeding from her head or any loss of consciousness. Luckily, nothing catastrophic happened to her apart from the pain, she was able to talk and stand up with assistance.

Since this afternoon, I've been having pain in my right temporomadibular joint, nagging in nature, pain is worse in movements.

Easter Break: Sydney- Adelaide

My posts are never up to date.
Nevermind that, Easter week was too cool. Went to Adelaide and Melbourne for the week's break. Being a student, the cheapo instinct made me take a bus to the airport. NOT FUN! I had to drag a bag up while carrying another hand luggage. They were not entirely filled with my stuff ok. I had to bring a steamer to my sister, that was very bulky!

Anyways, this time, Adelaide is different from all the other times that I've visited it. Apart from being away from home for 2 months and finally able to see my sister (not my bro, 'cause his Queensland trip is more important than his biological sister), Hann Yee, Sowmya and Aaron were there! Met up with the IMU people from M107 and M207 for some dessert at Pancake House.

Guess what?! Alicia was there for vacation too! Nice...

It's been almost a month since I last updated my blog. Finally, Oncology posting is over! MedOnc, RadOnc, Haemato and Palliative Care. The doctors and professors have been lovely to the Year 4 students, and I wasn't afraid to ask them questions. Well, other than this Registrar whom I was really terrified of. I think, he liked to put me in misery, giving me difficult patients and seeing me getting lost, just to make his day more interesting. Somehow, I was his only target! Glad that's over, hope I don't see him in the Aged Care ward in this posting!

Dealing with cancer patients wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be, to be honest, I kinda like the interactions that doctor-cancer patients have. But palliative care is a little different. Somehow, it has ways to get into people's mind. Somedays I would feel happy and rewarding; somedays, I just wish to spend more time with my family; somedays, I would miss Vanessa, Marcus, Nikki, Sam, Zven and Chloe terribly! I should learn to control my emotions better, but I'm only in 4th year!

Anyways, not that I'm very free to blog now, but this is for you, FONG ZHI VEN!

A little post about Sydney, again. Lindt Cafe at Darling Harbour.

Macaroons! Lindt sells the most expensive macaroons in Australia. Many likes the ones from Lindt. Maybe 'cause I've tried Ladurée at London before, nothing beats the macaroons from Ladurée!!! I think the ones from Lindt are too crumbly to bite, the flavours are too mild for my taste, the interior wasn't moist enough, it didn't quite melt in the mouth! Oh well, they look good though.

Hot chocolate. This was damn good! One could just taste the richness of the cocoa in the dark and smooth chocolate. Served with hot, fresh milk. All you have to do is just to mix the milk and the chocolate in the proportion you wish =)

Ice chocolate. The dudes prefered this though. It was ok, but HOT CHOCOLATE WAS BETTER!

Belgian waffle. This was quite light to the taste.

Lindt's chocolate lava cake. There wasn't anything fancy about this. No comment! Only thing was, the ice cream was good =)

Liking Sydney

I made cream of broccoli for dinner tonight. To my surprise, it doesn't taste bad at all, in fact, it actually tastes like restaurant standard! It's really simple to make too!

1. Cook some diced onion and garlic with olive oil.

2. Add the cut broccoli in. Stir fry.

3. Add broth in (any sort: chicken, vege or seafood)

4. Boil for about 10 minutes, or until the broccoli pieces are soft enough for a spoon to cut through easily.

5. Add some cream (I used low-fat milk, tastes awesome too!)

6. Pour into the blender.

7. Add parmesan cheese before serving. I added mozarella and reheated the soup using microwave.

A wholesome meal that tastes good! Packed with vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B5 etc, ascorbic acid, calcium, iron, potassium, fibre etc.

Learning Sydney

It's been a really busy week.

1. Booked tickets to Adelaide and Melbourne, which in total costs me about $300. As TY said, it would have been $150 if i have booked earlier. Too bad, we didn't know if there's gonna be any assignments given to us during the Easter break and when the holiday was dated on, earlier.

2. Been busy recuperating from atopic urticaria. I had to wear long sleeves for the entire week. What a horrible experince! It's still late summer in Sydney for now, 30 degrees on average.

3. Been busy fitting busy hospital clinics, ward rounds, mandatory lectures and tutorials, lab visits, BM biopsies, history taking and LUNCH into our daily routine everyday. Not too bad for now, as we're starting to get the hang of it. I've had the pleasure of attending Prof. Goldstein's clinic session and hopefully his ward rounds next week. He's the most impressive clinician that I've met yet. I found out that he's one of the 3 researchers who found the use of Gleevec in treating GIST and its metastases. Gleevec is famous for CML treatment alright, it's also good for GIST?!?! He's really a good teacher, he made me read the cases before the session, asked me questions and guided me in doing PE, made sure I have time for his other sessions!!! I'm lucky to have met him, I'd say =) His registrar is quite cute as well, another plus point. Oh, and he said, "this is so fucked up!", he's cool.

Van, it's in your favourite colour! This is the newest building in the entire UNSW campus. It's really cool, one is the colour, another is the fact that only Medical students, lecturers and authorized staff can enter this building. We need to swipe our special ID cards for the doors to open. But non-med students always say, "you medical students have a certain prestige, you can come to our campuses, but not vice versa".

I love my campus, it looks so majestic!

This is the junction of Belmore Rd. and Avoca St. I pass by this place almost everyday. The statue erected in the middle is James Cook, the famous English explorer who discovered NSW and many other places. My history is not very good.

Celebration- Disaster- for Vanessa

Saturday was Chanel's Birthday =) The 5 IMU girls initially planned on going on a Cruise from Darling Harbour, which was supposed to be on a discounted fare for international students. Only $15 for the cruise and refreshments. Too bad the ticketing office is located at Sydney Central, and Christine has been posted to St. Vincent hospital in the city, could not find time to buy the tickets for us, nor did Chanel & I, who have been posted to the Prince of Wales Hospital at Randwick, have the time to travel to the city to get the tickets. Soooo, in the end, the fancy plan was gone. CAPUT! Hahaha, this word reminds me of Dr. Vu from the anatomy lab who defined the term in his very own way. He's one of the coolest and most intimidating lecturer/ doctor whom I've ever met. He said, "Oh, fuck that institute. I really hated all the fucking bastards..." I was stunned.

Anyways, in the end, Christine, me and the birthday girl went down to the city to have a fancy lunch at the Hurricane, Harbourside, Darling Harbour. Baldeep and Ufairah couldn't make it.

Then, we walked from Darling Harbour to Hay Street for COLD ROCK! I think this is the best ice cream parlour ever! They can mix anything (snacks, fruits, toppings...) into any flavour of ice cream.

We were a little tired from all that walking, under the heat, so we headed home. While waiting for the bus...

Belmore Park. It's not as fancy as Hyde Park, or Centennial Park, but it was quite a sight too =) The subject was in the lithotomy position, hehehe.

Why celebrate the birthday in the afternoon but not at night? Voon Sien's birthday is on the next day, and he was having a birthday dinner at Darling Harbour on that night. I couldn't make it for his dinner in the end because...

My apartment, which is located at Kingsford, also, the foot end of the hill on which UNSW is situated. Well, the medical faculty is located at the Upper Campus, and the Prince of Wales is located even further up. I really wanted to get a place near my campus, so I won't have to climb up the hill everyday, too bad, couldn't find any in time. So, I settled further down at Kingsford. Yes, it's a little far from the Med campus. I have to walk about 20 minutes, uphill, to reach my campus, another 7 minutes to the hospital. But, the place is brand new, we have our famous Anzac Parade that's full of restaurants with meals at student prices, many convenient bus stops, and I have Christine who stays 2 minutes walk away from me! I take the walks as a part of my fitness regime, sometimes I do that several times a day if I have to.

I'm back!

Hello to the world again!!! I'm not dead. It's just that I've been waiting for my internet modem to arrive for soooooo long, and now, IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!!!!!!!

The posts will be messy and disorganized until I manage to update everything. Speaking of the internet service provider at my place, I'm using Optus, and not many people use their internet service, reason being, there are many cheaper service provider out there. Being a newbee in town, I was sooooo busy trying to sort things out during the first week I arrived at Sydney. Too busy to search for the offices of other internet service provider, we (my siblings & I) went to the Optus store at Belmore Road, Randwick since I did everything else there (got a contract Blackberry from Three, banking service...). Anyways, it was just for convenience sake. So now I'm paying $64 per month for the 60GB of internet usage. It's a little expensive. Whatever, I have 60G, I can download anything!!!! So yesterday morning, the Optus technician came to my apartment to fix the cables and all and when I arranged for the appointment, I asked the person to arrange for the earliest run possible, since I was almost dying without internet. It was supposed to be 8am, but the techician arrived 10 minutes early, which was when my alarm rang. I brushed my teeth and ran down to open da gate for him. When I saw him, " OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Why do they send a hot technician to me when it's 7.50am?!?!

On the second day of Chinese New Year, we left Batu Pahat and on the way home, we decided to have dinner at Seremban.

It's two restaurants away from the one that Sam brought Vincent & I to when we visited her. This one was VERY VERY GOOD!!!! Here comes the food pictures that make me miss Malaysian food.

House inspection is not something I'd like to do in the near future. It was so stressful when I just arrived and had to look for a place to stay! Anyways, the days when there wasn't any inspection, we explored Sydney!!!

My dad is a very Chinese-oriented man when it comes to food. So, where else but the best Chinatown in Australia!

This was a damn tasty fried rice with fish roe.

I miss the times when I had fancy dinner whenever my dad is around. Now, I have to keep track of my expenditure, plus, how much can one person eat? Oh winter, come quick! So my parents can come and I'll have fancy meals!!!

"Wicked" is the latest musical in Sydney. It has received countless good reviews, I'd like to watch it!

So simple and yummy! yumzzzzzz, hahahahaha. *Zven, Sam.

1st, buy 2 chicken wings.

2nd, get this marinade.

3rd, marinate the wings in a zip-lock bag and leave it in the fridge for as long as you want.

* zip-lock bag is useful for marination as it ensures that most surface of the subject is well covered with the marinade.

4th, bake it for 15 mins for each side.

5th, YUMMY!!!

This is really funny.

Speaking of toupe, I think men have a greater advantage when it comes to hair loss due to old age. Simply because, they can afford to shave their head bald, and still look presentable. The same can't be applied to old women, people will think that they have cancer or something. Wear a wig? That could be weird too.

Till I lose my hair, till some great minds invent a marvellous treatment for hair loss, I'm ageing beautifully, hehe.

Lazy to take pictures, lazy to obtain pictures from others. Nothing big to blog about.

1. Counting down to my freedom.

10 more days of revision! I CAN DO THIS! It's only the all mightly Musculoskeletal system and the mysterious Nervous system left. What's proceeding them will be a quick revision on Clinical Skills, theory and practical. Yea, I think i'm gonna talk to the air and practice palpation on my bolster since I would most probably be so lousy and rusty that I might waste any SP's time.

2. Counting down the days I have in Malaysia.

21 days in Malaysia. Probably 18 days in KL. I don't know how I feel now. Well, Sydney's not exactly somewhere I've been wanting to go since I started doing Medicine. Not jumping out of my seat when I found out that I got matched to UNSW. Why did I put Australia as my first 2 choices? I've been asking myself since the day I submited the matching form. Nevermind that. Sydney has its pros and cons. When I'm here, I list more cons of it. I guess when I'm there, there'll be more pros that I can brag about? hehe. I really hope that I can write a post that's going to contradict everything I write in this post in the future!

3. Counting down the duties I have to accomplish before I leave.

18 days to accomplish some duties! Gotta fulfill a promise Chloe & I had of having at least 2 crab meals, get the ISIC card from downtown KL (sucks, why can't they have an office in PJ?), buy loads of contact lens solution, pack some books so that my mama can ship 'em to me when I'm there, visit the KLCC Aquaria, formal clothes shopping (donation?), a Wii battle with Samandirty, a visit to the bank, drive my mama down to Ipoh just because we don't need no driver and that she can sleep throughout the ride as I drive, spend loads of quality time with my mama and my papa...

4. Counting down the days till my visit to KLCC Aquaria!

What I'm looking forward now is SAMANDIRTY to come back to KL for her vacation, so we can go to the KLCC Aquaria! Haha, I'm such a kid! I still remember how I bugged Justin to visit the Royal London Circus who were at The Curve back in 2006. The bugging didn't work for him. He's a weirdo who can stand my irritationg phone calls, and still pick them up. Haha.

The 3 Blind Mice

Just got some pictures from Zven & Joel. I can blog again!!! Then I realised, some pictures are not in the thumbdrive, hahaha. My post will never be in order no more...

Anyways, the Friday after Nikki left, which was on the 8th of Jan (I know, this is dated way back), Joel, Zven and I planned to have breakfast at Departure Lounge for some fresh bagels at Aman Suria. BREAKFAST! Haha, I had to wake up at 8 to complete 9 Haematology notes before heading out, otherwise I'd feel too guilty to enjoy the day. I wore a pair of overdued colour lens, with the left one being drained off from its solution (i assume it's microscopically defected), thanks to my ~~briliant~~ maid. But I didn't have any option!!! I wasn't going to wear my uglllaayyyy specs out (maybe I will when my new pair arrives =D).

So, when we got there... KNNCCBDNS!!! It wasn't opened*. Sucks... We were all too hungry to travel far, hence we settled at this restaurant called Rosemary Bites, which was only a few shops down from Departure Lounge.

* The Departure Lounge at Aman Suria has been moved to Damansara Uptown, and will only open for business in late February 2010. Source: Departure Lounge Solaris.

I wouldn't say that the food was excellent, but it did the trick of soothing our hunger pangs.

We played until the disc decided to fail on us, then Joel and I headed to the Desert's Bar outside my house for a quick snack. Zven couldn't join us 'cause he had some basketball game at 5.30pm.

Ooooo, the highlight at Dessert's Bar. A waiter was trying to hit on some chick who was studying there. After some observation, we deduced that they were both flirting with each other, and that waiter even served her a glass of water with lemon slices. I think he just wanted her to stay as long as she could, and that thirst should never get in the way of that, haha. Joel took some pictures of them, but I don't have them, sorrayzz.

So today, again, the three of us went out to Tropicana City Mall for some non halal action!!! A fast food restaurant that sells pork burger named Ninja Joe is newly opened.

A burger was sold at RM 5.95. But the more you buy, the cheaper it gets. We bought 6 at RM 24.95. And, if one can prove to the cashier that his name is Joe, there will be an RM 1 discount, haha. So, JoeL decided to show the lady his driving liscence, and VOILA! RM 1 taken off the total bill!!! The lady was just so nice, despite the "L", she still gave us discount =)

We had Original, 3 Teriyaki, Black Pepper, Sweet & Sour pork burgers and ordered Shurikens (mashed potato and pork nuggets). Overall.. IT WAS AWESOME! I think the burgers have to be eaten right away, 'cause I bought 2 home for my brother, and the patty and the bread turned soggy, as opposed to the crispy exterior the patty had when we ate them there.

I've become so lazy to bring my own camera and take pictures nowadays. I'm always so dependent on others to take, then get the pictures from them later on. This is why I always can't blog on time, 'cause I can only get the pictures from the others MUCH later. Slowly, but surely, I will update =)

Okay, so this is dated back to last Thursday. My dearest Nikki was back for his X'mas break!!! But he was only back for 2 weeks, and he spent 1 week at Hong Kong, so that means 1 week in Malaysia only. That busy young man had too much to do in a week, hence he didn't have time to come up to KL to meet up, nor did he have time for Zven & I to go Ipoh to visit him. After some serious negotiation... he managed to fit me into his busy schedule =) Can't complain, better than nothing, xoxo.

Met up with him at Mid Valley after he got his haircut there, before he left for KLIA. We met up about an hour before dinner time, just to catch up while waiting for Zven. We just sat on one of the big and comfortable couches at Gardens and flipped through the Convo. Mag. Such wonderful bonding time we had, laughing at some of the pictures, searching for our faces in the picture collage... (and many mean activities we did, hehe). His Royal Highness Zven finally decided to join us, then we had dinner at Pasta Zanmai- Nikki's Choice!!!

Daddy took home a puppy from my Uncle Wee (he has 4 generations of chihuahuas, probably sums up to 25 chihuahuas; and 10 big dogs like German Shepards, Dalmations, Rottweilers etc.). Well, we've already have 5 dogs, and we're not capable of adopting more dogs (unlike Uncle Wee who hires 2 maids just to take care of the dogs), we decided to give the dog to my niece, Maya.

Celebrations

Had a pretty busy week. Monday was shopping in Bangsar Village; Tuesday was Kin Kin Pan Mee with highschool friends, then shopping at Pavilion with Suat Ling and Jee Wei; Wednesday was a movie marathon of Alvin & The Chipmunks and Did You Hear About The Morgans with Joel at 1Utama; Thursday was meeting up with my dearest Nikki before he left for Edinburgh again; Friday was a supposedly bagel for breakfast, then Wii session with Joel & Zven (the cafe wasn't opened); Saturday was my cousin sister's wedding; Sunday was my twin nieces full moon celebration.

I haven't gotten the pictures from Nikki & Zven yet, so that's for another day =).

It was my cousin sister's wedding on Saturday. Had to sacrifice my entire day for it, meaning, I couldn't revise respi and haemato PBL that day. Oh well. The morning started with ragging activities of the bridegroom, haha, my cousins' favourite part of any wedding, I guess. They did an elaborated preparation. The house key submerged in iced water (the groom or any of the buddies had to retrieve the key with their foot, yuck!); pure lemon juice jelly (i love jelly but I passed...); steamed pao filled with pork, chili, pepper and wasabi; very bitter herbal tea; Baileys served in milk bottles etc.

To prevent interruption of the process, Walkie-talkies were provided (to the station masters, sucker)! They have had loads of practice prior to this wedding (many siblings).

I wasn't wearing my contact lens the entire afternoon! And of course, I would never wear glasses for a day like this. Many thanks to my smart ass maid, who inverted my contact lens case, and let all the solution out.

My highlight of the night. One of the band players was HOT! I don't think he's all that good looking, but he was TALENTED! Hence, the amazing aura and charm that caught my eye.

He could play the saxaphone, clarinet and SING. I found out from my cousin that his name was Sean. I took many pictures of him singing and playing the saxaphone (he looked way sexier playing the saxaphone compared to the clarinet), but my brother deleted them, leaving a couple of pictures for blogging purpose, ishhh.

As Zven said, the standard of the food has dropped, but I don't think it was terrible. It wasn't as good, but bearable I guess. However, to pay for the buffet price, I don't think it's worth.

The salad was excellent! I love their ranch and french dressing.

The roast beef used to my favourite of the gourmet section. NOT ANYMORE! The meat wasn't very tender and it wasn't very well marinated. DISAPPOINTED! The roast lamb was just alright.

Fresh oysters. I know many who takes them just to make their money worth (you know who yo are ;p). But i absolutely adore these little shellfish. It's not advisable to take ones that are too large or too tiny. I feel that the large ones are too yucky and they make me want to puke; the tiny ones do not have enough substance to taste. The best ones are of the size in which you can consume and savour it as a whole in one bite! But it cannot be too large to fill your entire oral cavity, although some people can still call the big ones "bite-size". The oral cavity has to have enough room for the fresh and succulent oyster to swivel around. The tobasco sauce at Lemon Garden is also worth mentioning, as cayenne pepper is added into it, making it more flavourful =)

Awesome! Oh yea, and good ones won't give you food poisoning (courtesy of vibrio parahaemolyticus, v.vulnificus etc.).

Dessert!

The white chocolate fountain used to be my favourite spot of the dessert section. Too bad it's not there anymore. The white chocolate fountain has been replaced by a strawberry chocolate fountain. It wasn't disappointing though. I still prefer that over the chocolate fountain. I always find their chocolate too oily and thin- that's for adding too much butter into the mixture!

Didn't take many food pictures, since Lemon Garden is always featured in blogs, and mine's no food blog, and there's nothing special about their food anymore.

2009 was a great year, but at times, I had wished for the time to pass so quickly. 2009 & I, we had a Love-hate Relationship.

New Year's resolutions are not like birthday wishes. They don't just come true like magical birthday wishes (realistic birthday wishes are supposed to, no?), so writing and publishing the resolutions won't make them not come true.

So, here's my list.

1. Have a healthy breakfast every morning (never wanna be a meal skipper no more!)

2. Drink at least 1500ml of water a day.

3. Work out frequently (endurance training, ermm, maybe at least 4 times a week, resistance training everyday)

4. Save up each month (not sure how much I can save in AUD)
5. Keep track of my daily expenditure.

6. Walk more, take the stairs instead of the elevators.

7. Not to be "the-asian-medical-student-who-just-transfered-from-IMU-and-not-know-much".

8. Not to lose my cell phone!
9. Not to speak ill about others (unless I'm talking to Van, of course)

10.Tweet everyday!

11. Skype more!

12. Learn to make a variety of salad.

13. Grow more LOVE for all mankind.

14. Try to find free time for myself everyday in my 2010 Clinical Year.

15. Be more environmentally friendly!!!

That's all I can think of for now. I think what I wrote is pretty realistic, not like I want to lose 10kg or to be 5 inches taller, hehehe. 2010 will be a tough year to begin, starting a new life in a new place without familiar faces... Hope things will be smooth for me because I'M A FIGHTER YO! I RISE TO THE OCCASSION. I'd like to think that =)

Yes, I'm writing this post on New Year's Eve. No plans for the countdown this year, I bet my parents are very pleased about me staying home. Traffic jam & road blocks everywhere, no available parking lots, sweaty & drunk crowds, disappointing fireworks... All these are actually ignorable to me, 'cause it's the company I'm with that matters most =) Been vomiting the whole day (I think it's from the mamak last night), so, it's best for me to stay home, blog and watch tv.

Anyways, I've started on my revision. I can no longer say "All I have is time", but I managed to find some for my latest Art Project =p This idea was triggered by Samantha Tee, hehehe.

The gifts are on Facebook, and only special people can see them.

Gifts for some, Part 1

This is for Vanessa Tan & Nicholas Yeap =) My mum was cooking the eggs the other day, and I took pictures of the cooking process just for fun =)

How to cook Chinese Herbal Eggs.

1. Get the spices.

2. Wash the eggs, so that there's no chicken shit stuck to the shell. Hoohoohoo.

3. Cook the eggs

4. Add a splash of vinegar into the boiling water to make the eggs more chewy (my mum claims that this works)

4. Soak the cooked eggs in cold water for 5 minutes

5. Crack the egg shells gently. Okay, I wasn't very gentle, hehehe.

6. Follow the cooking instruction from the pack by adding dark and light soya sauce.

7. Serve!!!

I miss the time you guys used to come over for supper already.

Lousy cupcake

If 1 Utama is the territory of Van & I, then Bangsar Village is of Sam & I.

We've alwalys wanted to try the pretty cupcakes at Bisou, Bangsar Village (beside New Zealand's Natural), but never got the chance to. It's always sold out by late afternoon.

Walk passed the cake boutique on Christmas day, and found many were still for sale. I guess they overbake for Christmas. So, I bought 1 and decided to have a try.

I ordered a flavour called "Zest you up". It's basically a vanilla cupcake, with orange zest icing. Citrus always lighten the flavour, doesn't it?

The cupcake sucked!!! Wasted RM 5 on a piece of cupcake which I have no idea why so many teenage girls were all over it. LOSERS.

The cupcake base was quite good. It was moist, not too buttery and the vanilla taste was pretty strong, which I liked a lot. But the icing, oh no no no!!! If one were to open a cupcake boutique with cupcakes decorated with a large amount of icing, isn't icing the very essential part of the product?!?! To begin with, the icing was too buttery: oily and there was a strong taste for low quality, stale butter. Then, the supposedly orangey taste of it, was contributed by orange flavourings, yuck! I couldn't taste the refreshing and light flavour of any zest! If they ever did add some orange zest into the mixture, then they're not very skillful, are they?

DISAPPOINTED!

The next time I step into the cafe, it wouldn't be for the cupcakes. Coffee, maybe =)

Chinese X'mas for me?

Just came back from Mid Valley after a movie session with Samantha, Jian Ming & Zven. We watched Sherlock Holmes!!! It was just awesome, a very smart movie indeed. Suspense & curiosity in the right amount. The story was pretty logical and not at all absurd as many mystery/ crime solving movies may be. EXCELLENT! The story was set in London. Most scenes revolved around the Picadilly Circus & the Thames River. I know the London landmarks well yo!

Christmas is a time to be spent with one's family =) and I have been spending mine with my family every year. I'm no Christian, alright (my mum is, hence I wear a cross that was given to me by her). I just have to spend the day with my family, with my Daddy to be exact! It's his birthday and my parents' anniversary.

My dad doesn't fancy Western meals, he prefers Chinese cuisine. He would just put a smile on his face and nod his head to agree with me if I wish to have Western instead. My dad's just oh so sweet =) So anyways, since it's his brithday, we picked a Chinese restaurant of our choice, heheheh!! Well, at least it's chinese =p

We went to Duck King in Jaya 1, at Jalan Universiti, PJ on Christmas Eve.

Seasoned duck tongue. I don't know how it tasted like since I didn't dare to eat the intrinsic muscles of the duck (superior & inferior longitudinal, verticalis, transversus).

Lucky Kid

Finally! My air ticket to Sydney has been booked and paid for. Too bad there's no promotion from MAS. Oh well. So, it's set, I'm leaving on the 19th of February, the 5th day of Chinese New Year. Why do people leave around that time of the month? Maybe it's just coincidental. Nikki left on the 19th of August. Vanessa left on the 20th of August. I know, I know, my curse of having such amazing memory. Baggage allowance is only 20kg, but apparently, if I show the ISIC card upon check-in, I'll be entitled to have an additional 10kg allowance. Plus, I'm travelling with my entire family. Considering everyone sacrificing 5kg for me, I'll have 25kg extra! EXCELLENT, AYE?

I'm kinda excited about Sydney at the moment, but I'm sure I'll feel like dying the week before leaving home.

Christmas came early this year!! Well, at least for my brother, Phillip. He got a new DLSR camera. It's the Canon EOS 500D/ 18-200mm with 15.1 mega pixels! It's RM 5000. Well, I don't think I should be commenting on the price of this camera, considering I have used more than that for my lovely UK trip. It's beyond comparison! I wouldn't trade a camera for the trip though!!!!

Well anyways, I used my loyal Sony DSC-T100 (8.1 megapixels, paiseh) to take some pictures.

I've been having a pretty busy early week this week. Monday, went to meet up with a Commissioner of Oaths at downtown KL to sign some declaration for me, then went out with my brother and finally met up with Jimmy for a late night movie. Tuesday, went to PJ newtown to get my medical check up & chest X-ray done, then rushed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Putrajaya before 3pm. It's pretty cool, the Australian student visa application process. It's all done online, so, it was recommended that the mandatory health check up to be done at assigned clinics/ laboratories. I picked Life Care Diagnostics, near Hilton PJ. I didn't expect the place to be so fancy, haha. The staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. There were a handful LCD tvs at the lounges. After the nurse performed venepuncture on me, she gave me a labeled container to collect my urine sample.

Nurse: " Miss Ong, please urinate into this container for the urine sample. We need the MIDDLE PART of your urine. The washroom is just down the hallway. You can take your time =)"

Me: "Oh, alright. Can I please have a glove?"

I think she was surprised by my request. Nevertheless, she provided the glove. She was so nice. Middle part of the urine. They should use better terms to describe Midstream Clean Catch Urine, I think.Well anyways, the whole process, including the preliminary results were completed within 1 1/2 hour. Quite impressive, I would say. Then this morning, I received a thank you text from Life Care Diagnostics. I like them =)

Rushed to Putrajaya after lunch at home, and guess what? I got there in 30 minutes! Total coolness. Oh yea, in the midst of being a vigilant and responsible F1 Racer, I managed to take a picture of my odometer, which, according to Zven, is broken. He claims that it doesn't tell the speed accurately, and that I drive like a P**S*.

Well, I spent another 15 minutes looking for the damn building in Putrajaya. I just hate the road signs there, total uselessness! Some kind motorcyclist directed me in the end =)

Had to obtain the Letter of Good Conduct from the Consular. It was all done pretty quickly though. All I had to do was to wait for my turn, hand in the application forms and wait for another 5 to 10 minutes to get the official letter. Impressive =)

Everything for visa application that could be done had to be done before Wednesday! I decided to remove my wisdom tooth which has been hurting me so badly for a week. A dental appointment on Wednesday was made, hence, the rush of errands to be completed before my jaw gets really swollen.

The upper molar has already erupted and it never caused any problem to me. Then, recently, the lower molar decided to erupt as well, but it couldn't do it as fast. A thin layer of gum was overlying the lower molar, and the upper molar has been biting on the gum!

The outcome of the dental consultation? I was happy to sit on the dental chair, since the easier alternative to surgically removing the lower molar was to extract the upper molar. Extraction of an erupted tooth is 100000X less risky, painful, time & energy consuming and torturous compared to surgical removal of a tooth that's embedded within gums & is surrounded by the bones. Apparently, the mandible has to be girdled and stitched in order to gain access to the underlying tooth. Too painful for me when there's a much easier alternative to that. (my apologies if any dental terms is used incorrectly)

Some lidocaine & epinephrine, quite a bit of pressure applied, a mere 15 minutes and VOILA! DONE!

Within a Day

Mr. X injured his right big toe while helping a friend to lift heavy parcels as he dropped the parcel onto his toe accidentally. The ache was described as dull and throbbing in nature, the right big toe began to swell soon after the onset and an approximately 1.5cm ecchymotic haemorrhage was visible at the nail bed. A doctor made a fine puncture through the nail to drain the extravasated blood out from the nail bed. Mr X soon travelled back to his hometown and visited another doctor for further management.

The 2nd doctor advised the patient to surgically remove the toe nail to promote healing.

Preparation: Xylocaine, cotton gauze, cotton wool balls soaked in Povidone Iodine, bandage

Tada! The final product!

I have obtained the verbal conscent from the patient to publish the photos =)

With an injured toe, my brother, who just got back from Adelaide, insisted in follwing me to Gardens for shopping!!! Well, what else to do when Banana Republic & Gap were having additional discount for Ms. Ong? Hahaha.

Since he missed Malaysian food so much, we went to Penang Village for lunch.

Their Pavlova is the best that I've ever tried in the whole of Malaysia, and I'm not exaggerating, not even a bit. It's always so authentic. The crunchy exterior & chewy interior of the meringue, the minimally sweetened whipped cream in the middle & the best fresh berries on top. Step aside, Alexis Bistro's Pavlova, learn the difference between a Pavlova & an ordinary meringue.

2 dessert anyone has to try at Delicious: The Chocolate Cake, and Pavlova!

Then me & my brother walked around the mall until Jimmy decided to show up for our movie session. Jimmy's the sweetest. He bought me a farewell gift, as we might not be able to meet up before I leave for Sydney =( THANK YOU JIMMAY!!! For being so thoughtful and sweet!!! Love ya loads... xoxo. We watched Couple Retreat! Well, it was just okay, some parts were quite funny, but it's just another simple movie that's only worth watching when you're with lovely people =)

Van!!! This is what I intended to buy for you as an X'mas gift. Too bad it was too pricey, so, a picture of it lasts as long too =p

Mazel Tov to my cousin brother and his wife, Madeline for their 2nd & 3rd child who came as a pair of lovely twin baby girls!

The 1st pair of twin in my family bearing my last name =) Too bad the allele that controls the frequency of ovulation (hyperovulation is needed, in this case) is not in my cousin brother. I guess I don't have it either... Oh well...

Nevertheless, the 2 newborns are just so adorable!

Nintendo Wii!!! One of the best creations in the world, for now!

Choon Yauw, Andrew, Keat Boon & I went over to Zven's to play Wii on Wednesday. Well, Choon Yauw had XBox, PS3, Wii etc etc at his place too, but Zven's place was better suited for or Wednesday plan =p It was funny how Choon Yauw & Zven were bringing things up just to compete with each other. Hahaha.

Obviously, the guys won most of the games since most of them require vigorous shaking of the remote controllers and nunchucks. In terms of physical strength, I lost. Had a lot of fun though =)

Then, Zven's youngest brother came home and showed us his new games. Hence, Andrew & Keat Boon played Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party with him.

It started with a lousy duck...

So much to do, so much to do!!! Gotta do my Visa application, medical & X ray tests, Letter of Good Conduct (freakin' far, man, Putrajaya), arrange accommodation, birthdays (why is there so many December babies?), wisdom tooth check up, Gossip Girl...

I've been craving for food I had in UK since I got back. Sucks... Malaysia's full of good food alright, just not the kind I loved so much in UK. Bagel's the top of my list, currently. I've been searching for nice bagels in KL. Sadly, no nice cafes has been spotted. Vienna Bagels at 1Utama sells bagels that look like donuts ( smaller, with spinkles, icing or cheese on top), Bagel 'n' Coffee at Hartamas Shopping Complex was alright, just that the bagels were not fluffy enough and the choices were quite limited. Departure Lounge at Solaris, Mont Kiara seemed like the best among the rest, judging by the pictures on the menu and the reviews I got from Jessy. Too bad they only serve bagels for breakfast, which is until 11.30 am. Oh well, I got there a lil too late and they didn't approve of my breakfast timing. I will be back for you, bagels at Departure Lounge!

Anyways, Zven found out from Wei Phin that the famous Four Seasons Bayswater Roast Duck has a branch in downtown KL. So, the adventurous us went to Four Seasons at Caps Square, Jalan Dang Wangi to try, despite reading bad reviews various food blogs. I decided to be nice ~~recently~~, so I suggested that I would drive Zven to KL. Was supposed to meet Zven & Chloe at IMU by 11.30am, then meet up with the rest ( Choon Yauw, Andrew & Keat Boon) at the restaurant by 12pm. Chloe was on time that day (rare, I know), but Zven wasn't =p

Finally, we arrived at Caps Square. We had no idea of such a shopping mall ever existed in KL! Haha.

There was absolutely nothing special about the duck, except maybe for the "extraordinary" price. It tasted like something you can get by the road side. Sucks!

After paying RM 40 each for the sucky meal, we went to Pavilion to watch Twilight!
New Moon was a little disappointing to me. I didn't think it was a movie worth watching in the theatre. I like the 1st one so much better.

Regardless, Edward's still my favourite. Jacob looked like a teenager on steroids. And the scene where he took off his shirt for Bella to wipe her blood, was so abrupt! The action was out of no where, too random. Edward 1- Jacob 0.

Had to rush back to IMU 'cause Zven had some basketball practice at 5.30pm, such a jock! While waiting for dinner, for the 1st time in my uni life, I used the IMU gym! At first it was quite alright, as I started off by using the better treadmill, Kettler brand (they only have 2). The belt was quite broad and it ran quite smoothly. I was thinking, "not bad, IMU has at least 1 good treadmill." Maybe I jinxed it. Just when I was sprinting at my last minute, the stupid treadmill just stopped! FOR NO REASON! Later on, a girl came and told me that the treadmill just stops at whatever speed it wants to. Sucks...

Lesson: Never use IMU gym anymore. Waste of time.

2 ½ sucky moments in 1 single day. Chuck Bass will cheer me up with his soft spoken words!!! =)

UK Trip day 12- London

Last day in the wonderful England =(

It was the most relaxing morning of all, okay, maybe not when compared to the morning at Preston. Xinyi & I woke up at our own time. Took our own sweet time to walk around the streets of Soho in the winter morning. We had breakfast at this pastry cafe, Princi. I think it's a French cafe.

We were too shy to take pictures of the place, since it was like "breakfast fine dining". Hahaha, we didn't want to appear as tourists. Only managed to capture a few pictures. They had glass panels at the counter, and the long table behind the glass, serving only the most exquisite pastry & cakes, the numerous water fountain at the walls which were facing the seats...

We had Passion fruit cheesecake, Eclaire Chocolate, Apple Chip, Sfogliatelle, Xinyi's morning orange juice & my morning cappucino. Lovely.

The 2 young ladies walked around Oxford Street since no guys were around to rush us or show their frustration during female shopping spree =)

Met up with the guys at Ciao, to have some ice cream & gelati.

After all that, it was time to say bye bye to Xinyi & to take a tube back to Ding Shyong's place. =( I hate farewells! Sucks!

THANK YOU, XINYI!!! It's really sweet of you to let me stay over at your place when you were in the midst of completing your coursework!!! Thank you, thank you!!!

Did some final packing at Ding Shyong's. Dian Hoong followed the guys (Zven & Ding Shyong) back to Ding Shyong's place just to say goodbye to us, okay, and helped me drag my luggage to the bus station, haha. He's so sweet!!!

We took a cab instead of a bus to the bus terminal at the Buckingham Palace Road. It was there that we bid Ding Shyong farewell =( He was so kind to send us off at the bus terminal!!!

Bye Bye Ding Shyong... We'll see you back in KL!!!
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH for being such a wonderful host & friend. We owe you so much!

75 minutes bus ride from Central London to Stansted Airport (middle of no where)...

Sucky airplane food... Yucks!
